Pregnancy Week 26
In week 26, your baby's fingernails finish forming.
The lungs begin to produce surfactant, a substance which allow the air sacs in the lungs to inflate and deflate properly without collapsing or sticking together.
By the end of this week, your baby will be about 9 inches or 230 millimeters in length from crown to rump and weigh almost 2 pounds or 820 grams.
Second trimester symptoms are still common at this time and will probably increase in frequency and acuteness as the baby grows.
